Job Title: Structural Engineer (Brooklyn, NY)


Duties: Design engineering details and methods for special and complex structures in sewer and water main systems, including chambers, deep interceptor manholes, F.T.R.C box sewers, and foundations. Coordinate and mediate meetings between various agencies and private utilities’ companies to resolve technical, alignment and administrative design issues. Analyze and prepare contract drawings, specifications and estimates, including but not limited to plans, profiles, and details inherent to sewers and water mains. Analyze as-built and record information to confirm survey accuracy and provide recommendation to management on design feasibility and issues encountered, as well as viable solutions. Provide technical design analysis for shop drawing submittals (e.g., sheeting, decking, soldier beams and chambers) to determine structural and OSHA conformance to NYC’s standards, including ASTM, ACI, AWS and AISC. Respond to RFI’s and review shop drawings. Perform field surveys and investigation.


Requirement: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. 6-month experience in designing engineering details and methods for complex infrastructural structures in sewer and water main systems; providing technical design analyses to determine structural and OSHA conformance to NYC’s standard. Proficiency in using AutoCAD and civil 3D.
